Junior DevOps Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Snappy is looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer to join our infrastructure team. You’ll work on a modern, cloud-native stack across AWS and GCP. You’ll focus on automation, observability and security, and learn from experienced engineers while taking on real production responsibility. You’ll also use AI tools to streamline day-to-day operations.

You’ll help us scale a multi-cloud, AI-driven platform that powers millions of gifting experiences worldwide. You’ll work with AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform and CI/CD, with guidance and mentorship from the team.

YOU WILL:

- Support and maintain AWS/GCP infrastructure (networking, IAM, multi-account setups) under the guidance of senior engineers.

- Write and update Terraform code, GitOps flows and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, ArgoCD).

- Help deploy and operate Kubernetes clusters and serverless applications.

- Build and maintain dashboards and alerts using Prometheus and Grafana, and explore AI-assisted insights.

- Apply security best practices and help with compliance automation.

- Use AI tools to speed up development, spot anomalies and assist with incident response.

- Take part in on-call and incident handling, first as a shadow and then gradually on your own.

- Document processes and runbooks.

YOU HAVE:

- 1–2 years in a DevOps, SRE, cloud or system administration role. Strong relevant projects, a military technology unit background or internships also count.

- Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform and CI/CD pipelines, at the level of working on them rather than designing them end to end.

- A basic understanding of AWS core services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC) and familiarity with AWS Lambda and serverless concepts.

- Curiosity about AI automation in DevOps, and an interest in using it in your daily work.

- A strong desire to learn, take ownership and work well in a team.

Bonus points

- Python/Bash scripting skills (Go is a plus).

- Exposure to cloud cost optimization or FinOps.

- Interest in internal developer platforms or platform engineering.

- Cloud certifications (e.g. AWS Cloud Practitioner or Associate level).
