About the role
Location: Bristol, UK Salary: £45,000 per annum Start date: September 2027 Application deadline: Midnight, 29th November 2026 We encourage you to apply early, as we may close applications before the advertised deadline.
The Graduate Programme at Graphcore
Join Graphcore in a permanent role and start your career with two years of hands-on learning. From day one, you’ll be trusted to take ownership, share your ideas and help shape what we’re creating. You’ll tackle challenging problems alongside a team who support your development and are as excited about your success as you are.
What you’ll work on
Put your technical foundations to work on the cloud platforms that help demanding AI workloads run at scale.
As a Graduate Cloud Platform Engineer, you’ll help develop, deploy and operate services across Graphcore’s high-performance AI infrastructure. Your work will support the systems used by internal teams and Graphcore cloud customers. We believe technology should expand human potential and make progress more accessible.
You’ll write automation, investigate issues, analyse logs and metrics, and help validate AI hardware and the infrastructure around it. It’s a chance to see how Linux, networking, storage and cloud services fit together and contribute to the platforms that make large-scale AI possible.
How you’ll learn and grow
During the two-year programme, you’ll build practical experience in Linux, cloud technologies, networking, storage, observability, OpenStack , Kubernetes, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), and Infrastructure-as-Code.
Hands-on automation and troubleshooting will help you understand how these systems fit together and develop a methodical approach to investigating issues. You’ll learn to use logs and metrics to test your thinking and explain what you find.
Working with engineers, researchers and Datacentre Operations will help you understand how platform decisions affect the people using these services and develop your technical judgement and communication skills.
What we’re looking for
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Electronic Engineering or a related subject, completed by summer 2027 or within the two years before the programme starts
- Practical experience using the Linux command line, with scripting or programming skills such as Python or Bash
- Familiarity with Git or another version-control system, with a clear approach to documentation and code review
- A methodical approach to troubleshooting and the ability to communicate your findings and work with others
You’ll be curious about cloud infrastructure, platform engineering or computer systems, with an interest in areas such as networking, storage, containers or observability.
You can demonstrate these skills through coursework, a dissertation, personal or team projects, open-source work, placements or other relevant experience. Tell us what you built or investigated, how you approached it and what you learned.
