Our Reston team is seeking a mid-level Systems Engineer to support the design, development, integration, testing, and deployment of complex technical systems supporting mission-critical programs. This individual will work closely with software developers, infrastructure engineers, technical leads, and customer stakeholders to translate mission needs into effective system requirements and solutions.

The ideal candidate has a strong systems engineering background, understands the full system development lifecycle, and is comfortable working across multiple technical disciplines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be expected to:

- Support the design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of complex systems and applications.

- Analyze mission, operational, and technical requirements and translate them into system-level requirements and specifications.

- Develop and maintain system architecture, interface documentation, technical requirements, and other systems engineering artifacts.

- Evaluate system designs to ensure technical requirements, performance objectives, security requirements, and customer needs are met.

- Collaborate with software, infrastructure, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and testing teams throughout the system development lifecycle.

- Support system integration activities across hardware, software, networks, applications, and external interfaces.

- Identify and troubleshoot complex system-level issues and coordinate resolution across technical teams.

- Participate in requirements reviews, design reviews, technical interchange meetings, demonstrations, and customer meetings.

- Evaluate proposed system changes and assess potential technical impacts, dependencies, and risks.

- Support verification and validation activities to ensure system requirements are satisfied.

- Develop and maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, interface descriptions, procedures, and engineering reports.

- Assist with system deployment, configuration, upgrades, and operational readiness activities.

- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to program leadership and customer stakeholders.

- Support continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and system performance.
