Role Overview

We are expanding our Platform Engineering team with a Senior Software Engineer who thrives in deep systems work.

This role sits at the core of Nasuni’s NAS appliance platform—the Linux-based system that runs in customer environments across physical hardware, virtualized infrastructure, and cloud platforms.

This is a role for engineers who:

- Build and debug operating-system-level software.

- Understand storage and filesystem internals.

- Write production-grade Python as a primary development language.

- Enjoy diagnosing complex Linux and I/O issues in real-world deployments.

This role is not for application-only developers or infrastructure operators. It is for engineers who build and evolve system platforms.

Level & Scope

You will:

- Own design and implementation of subsystems within the NAS appliance platform.

- Design and develop Linux systems software in Python.

- Contribute to storage, upgrade, deployment, packaging, and lifecycle management components.

- Debug complex customer-reported issues across OS, storage, and virtualization layers.

- Influence architecture decisions within the platform domain.

- Collaborate with QA, Support, and Cloud teams to deliver appliance-grade reliability.

You operate with high autonomy within your domain and are accountable for production-grade outcomes.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain Linux systems software for the NAS appliance platform.

- Write production-quality Python code for system orchestration, automation, upgrade workflows, and platform services.
