Job Summary
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable cloud and on-premises infrastructure that supports mission-critical applications and services. This includes administering and hardening Linux systems, architecting networking, storage, and compute resources, and building infrastructure as code to ensure environments are repeatable and version-controlled. A core focus of the role is installing, configuring, and maintaining Kubernetes clusters and the foundational CNCF tooling that runs on top of them, including monitoring, ingress, service mesh, and certificate management.
Beyond day-to-day infrastructure operations, this role partners closely with development and platform teams to translate application requirements into reliable, secure infrastructure solutions. Responsibilities include implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, enforcing security best practices such as identity and access management and secrets management, and participating in on-call rotations to maintain system reliability and uptime. The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer also documents infrastructure architecture and operational procedures, evaluates new tools and practices to improve efficiency and maturity, and contributes to the team's overall technical direction.
Employment for this position is contingent upon contract award to Rampant Technologies. Final selection, start date, and offer of employment are subject to contract terms and client approval.
