Role overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced Principal Linux Engineer to design and implement the complex enterprise Linux platforms used within several AWS regions and Data Centre locations. This is an opportunity to help lead a core part of our infrastructure through generation of recommendations and thought leadership, operating as a senior technical authority, driving complex initiatives, setting direction, and influencing outcomes beyond your immediate remit.

Driving Delivery & Technical Direction

Not only delivering assigned work but actively driving projects forward. Delivering outcomes not simply completing given tasks.

Providing technical direction to other engineers and teams.

Acting, when required, as a technical project lead / de facto technical project manager, particularly for initiatives that span multiple teams or platforms.

Define multiyear roadmaps and technical vision for your technology areas.

Ownership of Strategic Work

Leading key strategic initiatives for the team, which could involve technologies outside of experience or comfort.

Work as part of a team to define, design and implement the Platform Infrastructure used within our hybrid cloud locations.
