Software Engineer, Developer Products

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer, Developer Products based in the United States.

This is an opportunity for an experienced software engineer to shape the developer-facing products of a rapidly growing AI infrastructure platform. You will build and evolve the APIs, SDKs, documentation, CLI, and tools that developers use to integrate powerful language models into their applications. Your work will help improve usability, reliability, and flexibility across the developer ecosystem. You will also contribute to agent-oriented products, enabling AI agents to interact more effectively with the platform. Working with Product, Developer Relations, and Platform teams, you’ll have significant autonomy and ownership in a collaborative engineering environment. This role is ideal for a proactive engineer who values thoughtful API design, practical execution, and high-quality developer experiences.

Accountabilities: -

Own and evolve the public REST API: Lead API design and improve developer ergonomics, versioning, error handling, and rate-limiting behavior.

Build and maintain SDKs: Develop and support client SDKs in TypeScript and Python, and lead the launch of upcoming SDKs.

Develop agent-focused products: Ship the Agent SDK and expand it to support multi-step, agentic workloads built on the platform.

Improve developer documentation: Treat documentation, examples, and starter repositories as core products, ensuring they provide effective entry points for developers.

Optimize for AI coding agents: Make APIs, SDKs, documentation, and other developer-facing tools accessible and effective for AI coding agents.

Measure developer experience: Instrument and evaluate the resources developers and AI agents encounter first, using insights to improve onboarding and adoption.

Collaborate across teams: Work closely with Developer Relations, Product, and Platform teams to identify ecosystem gaps and deliver solutions from discovery through launch.

Drive product improvements independently: Identify opportunities to improve developer tooling and execute initiatives with a high degree of autonomy.

Requirements:

-

Professional experience: At least five years of experience building external-facing developer products, such as APIs, SDKs, or developer platforms used by engineers.

API and SDK design: Strong design instincts and demonstrated experience shipping libraries that developers integrate into their applications.

TypeScript expertise: Strong TypeScript skills; experience with Python SDKs is also relevant to the role.

AI-oriented mindset: Comfortable using AI in your own workflow and interested in the potential of agentic systems.
