The Role

What You'll Do As a Backend Engineer, you will design and deliver scalable backend services that power Veeva Ostro’s SaaS platform. In this role, you’ll balance high-velocity delivery with long-term code health, building impactful features while championing clean architecture, rigorous testing, and low technical debt.

- Architect and scale high-performance APIs for Veeva Ostro’s SaaS platform

- Partner cross-functionally to design and ship new features

- Provide technical feedback on product roadmaps and feature scoping

- Champion quality through peer reviews, unit testing, and clean architecture

- Optimize application and database performance to handle growth

- Evaluate emerging backend technologies to improve engineering practices

- Troubleshoot and resolve live system issues to maximize uptime

Requirements - 5+ years of software engineering experience shipping production code for B2B or B2C SaaS products

- 5+ years of backend engineering in Python, Java or similar languages

- Strong proficiency with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL

- Excellent communication and cross-functional teamwork skills
