About the Role:

Remitly is building the Remitly Global Card, a card and wallet that give customers a single, trusted place to hold, spend, and move their money, launching across multiple geographies. As a Senior Full Stack Engineer on the Global Card team, you will own features end to end: the screens customers see, the APIs behind them, and the services that issue cards, hold balances, and move money. You will serve as a key technical voice on a cross-functional team that moves fast and builds with AI in the loop every day, agentic coding tools are part of how we work, not a side experiment, while holding the correctness and trust bar a regulated money product demands. You will report to the Engineering Manager and work in a hybrid capacity from our Arlington, VA office.

You Will:

- Set the technical standard: Design and write code that is well-tested, resilient, extensible, and scalable — setting the quality bar for the team and making it easy for others to contribute.

- Lead team projects: Break down complex features into parallel workstreams, provide delivery estimates, and drive execution from design through launch with a high degree of independence.

- Guide engineering excellence: Uphold and exemplify Foundational Excellence standards — including security, reliability, observability, and quality — and proactively identify and resolve risks before they become incidents.

- Mentor and grow the team: Guide and mentor SDE peers through code reviews, design reviews, and retrospectives. Represent Remitly's cultural values and technical competencies in interviews.

- Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with Product, Design, Analytics, and other engineering teams to translate customer needs into scalable technical solutions and deliver on shared outcomes.

- Communicate with clarity: Effectively articulate complex technical problems, trade-offs, and proposals to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You Have:

- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
