Position Summary...
What you'll do... Role summary:
As a Staff Software Engineer on Software Delivery Services, you will design, build, and ship the services that install and update software on hundreds of thousands of Mac and Windows computers. You will work agent-first. That means writing clear, testable specs, directing AI coding agents to implement them, and reviewing what they produce for correctness and security. You will set technical direction across a device agent, cloud backend services, and an automated platform that rolls out application updates in stages and stops automatically when something looks wrong. You will also help the rest of the team get better at building this way.

Software Delivery Services makes sure Walmart associates have the software they need, kept current and secure, on hundreds of thousands of Mac and Windows computers. We manage the full life of desktop applications, from intake and packaging through testing, deployment, updates, and retirement. We are building a next-generation platform that installs and updates software in minutes instead of hours, powers self-service app stores, and sets up new computers automatically. We build with AI agents writing most of our code, and engineers defining the work, setting the guardrails, and approving every change.
