About the role
At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.
We launched a new ad-supported tier in November 2022 to offer our members more choice in how they consume their content. Our new tier allows us to attract new members at a lower price point while also creating a compelling path for advertisers to reach deeply engaged audiences.
Our Team
The Netflix Ads Signal Acquisition: CAPI & Audience Onboarding team plays a critical role in collecting signals for member understanding, measurement and outcome optimization.
The Role
As a Software Engineer on the Ads Signal Acquisition: CAPI & Audience Onboarding team, you will be instrumental in designing and developing Netflix Conversion APIs. These APIs are essential for powering critical Measurement, Optimization, Retargeting and Reporting capabilities.
As a Software Engineer on the Conversions & Audience Onboarding team, you will develop client-side SDKs for capturing consented advertiser signals across their digital properties, build interfaces that allow advertisers to upload offline conversion data, and architect high-volume, low-latency ingestion APIs. You will develop state of the art JavaScript capabilities to capture key user interactions—from Page Views and Product Discovery to down-funnel actions like Add to Cart, Checkout, and Purchase—while rigorously upholding privacy regulations and user consent preferences. Additionally, you will engineer scalable APIs to process these high-throughput conversion signals. You will collaborate with a team of talented professionals who are deeply passionate about ads technology and privacy, fostering a culture that values creativity, diversity, and continuous learning.
Must haves:
- Deep knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, including asynchronous patterns and performance optimization.
- Proficiency in software development languages such as Java, Scala or Python.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
- Ability to design and architect scalable, high-performance systems.
- Proven track record in developing, deploying, and maintaining advertising pixels, SDKs, or tag management systems.
- Familiarity with Consent Management Platforms (e.g., OneTrust, TrustArc) and their APIs.
- Experience with leading tag management systems such as Google Tag Manager (GTM), Tealium iQ, Adobe Launch, or Segment.
- Deep understanding of browser environments (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox), browser APIs, and common limitations for client-side scripts.
- Strong grasp of JavaScript security threats and mitigation strategies.
