Automated aviation systems will enable a future where air transportation is safer, more convenient and fundamentally transformative to the way goods — and eventually people — move around the planet. We are a team of mission-driven engineers with experience across aerospace, robotics and self-driving cars working to make this future a reality.
As a Flight Software Verification Manager you’ll lead and grow the team responsible for performing the verification of our flight software to DO-178C compliant processes. The ideal candidate will bridge technical leadership, rigorous process compliance, and people management to guarantee the safety, airworthiness, and regulatory approval of our flight software products.
Responsibilities
- Provide direction and guidance to software verification engineers.
- Own software verification efforts.
- Triage issues found during verification and coordination with relevant teams.
- Provide training and mentoring to engineers in verification processes, tools and best practices.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage the qualification of software verification tools (e.g. test automation, static analyzers, coverage tools) according to DO-330 guidelines.
Basic Success Criteria
- 5+ years of experience in safety-critical software verification objectives (DO-178C, ISO 26262, IEC 62304, NPR 7150.2 or equivalent).
- 3+ years in a technical leadership or people management role.
- Proficiency with static analysis, structural coverage tools (e.g., Rapita, VectorCAST, LDRA), configuration management tools, and embedded programming environments (C/C++).
- Excellent documentation, collaboration, and cross-functional communication skills.
Preferred Criteria
- Demonstrated success scaling teams and maturing verification processes in a high-growth environment.
- Experience specifying and working with a range of test environments to fulfill product and DO-178C verification objectives
- Practical experience of performing DO-178C verification analyses activities such as control and data coupling, worst case execution time etc
- Experience with tool qualification for DO-178C/DO-330.
- Prior certification liaison experience, working with Certification Authorities (FAA, EASA etc).
- Experience of automation and reporting of test results and coverage.
