Founding Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Own the product experience and platform for an AI-powered renewable energy diligence service. You will work directly with customers and expert reviewers to build and ship tools that help accelerate financing and development of energy infrastructure projects.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Talk with customers and translate their needs into product improvements.

- Design, build, and ship features across the customer, analyst, and expert reviewer experience.

- Develop and operate the platform supporting AI-assisted document review and diligence workflows.

- Build systems that keep customer data isolated, access-controlled, and auditable.

- Ensure extracted claims are grounded in source documents, and route unsupported questions to expert reviewers.

- Use measurable experiments to evaluate changes, monitor accuracy, and address regressions.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Two or more years of experience, with startup experience as a founding engineer or an early team member.

- Full-stack engineering experience across frontend and backend development.

- Experience with agent architectures or LLM-powered workflows.

- Experience building document processing, retrieval, or extraction systems.

- Familiarity with Rails, React, Postgres, or Elasticsearch.

- Background in fintech, legaltech, proptech, or energy and infrastructure.

- Ability to work in North American time zones.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary is $130,000 to $150,000 USD annually, with meaningful equity. Visa sponsorship is not available.

LOCATION

Remote, with a primary location in Canada.
