About the role

At Capco, we're looking for a Developer with experience in API development, Python, artificial intelligence (AI), and prompt engineering to join our Technology & Engineering practice in Toronto.

You'll work with collaborative teams to design, develop, and integrate scalable APIs and AI-powered solutions for leading financial services clients. This role offers the opportunity to combine strong software engineering fundamentals with practical AI expertise, delivering secure, reliable, and innovative technology solutions that address real business challenges.

What You’ll Do

Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and backend services using Python.

Build and integrate AI-powered applications, leveraging large language models (LLMs) and prompt engineering techniques to address business requirements.

Develop reusable, maintainable code and integrate APIs with enterprise applications, data platforms, and third-party services.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into secure, reliable, and effective technical solutions.

Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance application performance while following software engineering best practices.

What We’re Looking For

-

Approximately 2-3+ years of hands-on software development experience, with strong proficiency in Python and API development.

Practical experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs, including authentication, error handling, and performance optimization.

Experience working with AI technologies, including LLMs, generative AI applications, and prompt engineering techniques.

Understanding of software development principles, version control (Git), testing frameworks, and CI/CD practices.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to deliver solutions in complex technology environments.

Bonus Points For

Experience with Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.

Familiarity with AI frameworks and tools such as LangChain, Azure OpenAI, or other LLM integration platforms.

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Knowledge of microservices architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, and API management platforms.

Previous experience delivering technology solutions within financial services, banking, or consulting environments.
