ARE YOU READY FOR THE CHALLENGE OF BUILDING GAME SERVER PLATFORMS THAT HANDLE GLOBAL SCALE? DO YOU GET EXCITED BY OWNING CRITICAL SERVER INFRASTRUCTURE THAT SERVES HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF PLAYERS?
We're looking for an experienced Senior Server Engineer to join Supercell's Central Tech organization in Helsinki. Our core mission is to let game teams focus on creating great player experiences by giving them robust, scalable and easy-to-use server technology.
As a Senior Server Engineer, you'll own core server parts of Supercell’s own game engine, the platform every Supercell game builds on, and work closely with our game teams to keep it fast, reliable and easy to use. To give you a sense of scale: processing ~15 billion game events/day, storing 5TB of data/day, and working with thousands of game servers. Recent problems the team has worked on include dynamic scaling of stateful systems, downtime reduction, server performance optimization, and dynamic game content delivery.
Game development at Supercell is a team sport. We value humility, pragmatism and open collaboration. Central Tech engineers work seamlessly with game teams and other central teams, and we expect you to share experience and lessons across teams, both successes and failures.
Ps. Did you know we have our own game engine? This article https://supercell.com/en/news/game-engine-called-titan/ explains why you've probably never heard of Titan, while this https://supercell.com/en/news/titan-game-engine/ more technical article is about making Brawl Stars toilet break-friendly.

- Innovate on the use of AI technologies in the realm of robust, scalable server technology.
- Take technical ownership of critical parts of central game server technology, from design to production, and be accountable for their reliability and performance.
- Collaborate closely with game teams to understand their needs and help them get the most out of central systems.
- Investigate and resolve production incidents affecting players, and drive the long-term fixes.
- Take part in the on-call rotation, providing first-line support for production
- Set technical direction in your area: lead design decisions, mentor other engineers, and contribute to best practices around scalability, reliability, availability, security, and operability.
- Improve operational procedures for our infrastructure and services.
- Share knowledge and lessons across Central Tech teams.
